1. So Helaina, tell me about yourself.
I’m Helaina Beech, I’m 22 years old. I live in Clayton, Newcastle-under-lyme and I’m a Home Ownership Sales Advisor at Cerris Homes. I joined the Cerris Homes team nearly 2 years ago when the business began.
2. What do you do in your role on a day to day basis?
Most days I’m out and about visiting our new build developments, showing customers around our new houses and attending completions where I meet the customer at their new home to do their key handover. I also spend time speaking to solicitors to progress sales of new homes to help customers exchange within 28 working days – most customers can’t wait to get into their new home so I manage the process so things run smoothly and quickly!
3. What is your favourite part about your job?
I love the day I give someone the keys to their new home; seeing the excitement on their faces when it sinks in that they are now officially homeowners is so rewarding!
4. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy socialising with friends and walking my dog Lola, a 5 year old Schnoodle.
5. Where would your dream home be?
My dream home would be in the middle of nowhere – my dream is to have a barn conversion with acres of land and no neighbours, where my dog can run around all day. It would just be so peaceful and quiet!
6. What is your greatest achievement to date?
I’m really proud of buying my first home. I still remember the overwhelming feeling of becoming a homeowner for the first time, it was a whirlwind of emotions from being terrified to excited but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done and I can relate to so many first time buyers going through these emotions when they first step onto the property ladder!
7. What is the one thing you are most looking forward to this year?
Christmas! I love that festive time of year. I go completely over the top with my Christmas decorations; my house is decorated like Santa’s grotto! But I love it! I love hosting Christmas dinner and Christmas Eve at my house.
